Founded 2026 · United Kingdom
Aligarh gave us a start. Britain is where we carry it forward.
A national association for alumni and friends of Aligarh Muslim University — gathering the Aligarian community across the UK, and funding the students who come after us.
Who we are
One community, from Aligarh to every corner of Britain.
Aligarians have been arriving in Britain for generations — as doctors, engineers, lawyers, academics and entrepreneurs. Until now, that community had no permanent home here.
The AMU Alumni Association UK is a secular, non-partisan, volunteer-run body serving the educational, social, literary and cultural needs of alumni and friends of Aligarh Muslim University in the United Kingdom — and keeping Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s conviction alive: that education is the shortest route to dignity.

Scholarships
We fund tuition, hostel and book costs for students at Aligarh who would otherwise leave.
Community
Sir Syed Day, Eid Milan and regional meet-ups from Glasgow to Southampton.
Mentoring
Alumni mentors help new arrivals with registration, careers and settling in Britain.

Scholarship fund
£400 keeps a student in Aligarh for a year.
Every pound raised at Sir Syed Day goes to the AMU UK Scholarship Fund. It covers tuition, hostel and books for students who would otherwise have to leave — chosen on need, with preference for first-generation university students.
